Well I was born to be afraid, although my mama didn't mean it and my daddy is not to blame. I was born to be afraid, afraid of heights and spiders and all my sacred space. I'm afraid to look. Can everyone see? I'm afraid you'll find it... all the bad in me. I was born to make things break. Even my mama knows it. It keeps my dad awake. Well I was born to feel this pain, and when I learn to love it then I won't be afraid.

I've been grinding my teeth. I've been wearing thin like the skin on my knees. She's been living in New York City with the girl she loves. Everybody sees she's so pretty... I'm calling her bluff. I loved you first, I lost you fast. It wouldn't last, it couldn't last. And I can see I'm not enough. It couldn't be. I cannot breathe. I've been grinding my teeth. I've been falling apart quietly. I don't blame her, I didn't love....
3.
I was a black blooded woman. You were a tin man, red with rust. I cried an oil spill to make you love me, but it was never enough. I greased your elbows and then your knees and toes, but I couldn't make you hold me the way I wanted most. Sometimes I was angry, sometimes I was weak. The thoughts that I was thinking I often couldn't speak and now I'm sorry for that. I am a red blooded woman; I show my heart when I can't see. I give my love before I'm certain who's giving love to me. You said you loved me, I know that you won't lie. I'm sure that I felt it once or twice. But oh how I've missed you and longed to be yours. Have I forgotten the way I wanted more? You said you loved me, you said you wouldn't lie but I packed my bags and said goodbye. I miss you, I've longed to be yours. How I've forgotten the way I wanted more.
